Serial # 14048031AV. Purchased 2/2003. The unit had a list of operational problems, I replaced the Control Board which had burned-out some of the electronics. After replacing the Control Board, we ran the unit successfully through 1 or 2 cycles. This morning, the unit is back on the fritz, so I opened-up the door and found that it has destroyed the new Control Board. On the Control Board, R53, R56, R57, R58, R59, R60, R61, R62, and R63 have overheated and burned. These are the same resistors that were destroyed on the old Control Board. In particular, R57, R58, R61 and R62 show evidence of the most heat damage and I was able to easily scrape their remains off of the printed circuit board with my fingernail. I do not have a wiring diagram. If you know what load these resistors supply, maybe I can troubleshoot further to determine what part/parts are demanding high current and ruining the control board.

Here is a service manual that covers that unit. http://appliancedigest.com/index.php?/files/file/474-16021814-maytag-jetclean-ii-dishwashers-service-manual/You have to join the site to download the manual but it is free and this is a very good site for manuals and other info for the appliance repair DIYer. See the attachment for the tech sheet They do not publish actual schematics for the boards so you will have to trace the resistor that are blown back to the plug that they are part of and that may lead you to the bad device. A bad wax motor would be at the top of my list. |
