I replaced the oven thermostat because of wide swings in temp - set at 350 it would vary ±50°F. Should be more like 10 to 20°, right? No change with the new thermostat. I now think the problem is in the thermostat design and that my old one was OK. I don't see any way to adjust the thermostat to get it to cycle closer. Any ideas on how to improve this?

Take the knob off the oven set control and turn it over, your adjustment should be on the knob itself.

Bill just remember you get an average temp of 350. So if you set the temp to 350, and it goes to 370, and shuts off, and then comes back on at 330. You have an average temp of 350. The thermostat is the only thing that controls the temperature, and I doubt if the new one is bad. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
