well i repaired the oven by replacing the expensive touch pad and all was well untill a few days ago when my wife said it smells like plastic burning.

I of course went to investigate and sure enough it smells like a flourescent light ballast gone bad.

the next day (today) i removed the control panel and inspected the wiring and found nothing obvious but the transformer that connects via wiring harness to the control board is warm (not overly hot but warm to the touch) even though the oven has not been turned on all day to cook just powered up and idle.

Any help from the guru's of appliance repair would once again be greatly appreciated.

the bottom oven has no such symptom but the upper produces the smell whether it is operating on convection or standard mode.
