For about 1 week now the icemaker has not worked properly. It makes just a very small amount of ice, not even enough to fill a glass in one day. Up until then it worked great. Occasionally it wouldn't fully release the cubes but when we opened it and released the cubes manually, it would resume making ice and working fine. This time, though, it just practically stopped making ice.
We installed a new water filter, thinking that might fix the problem, but it didn't.

Make sure the ice maker "on-off" switch on the right side is in "on" position. Open the freezer door, press in the emitter flapper door (on the left side) to unblock the optics beam and view the diagnostics "status" LED on the right side.

If it flashes then the optic boards have to be replaced.

If it stays "on" then the ice maker is bad.

- The part number for the ice maker is AP3182733
