Please help!! My fridge/freezer seems to be cooling ok for some time then they will warm up and start thawing out. I checked the compressor and it runs along with the fan. My freezer is getting to 1.2 deg and the fridge is at about 40 deg. After some time they will start warming up. My wife turned both thermostats down then back to their original settings and everything starts running again. But soon after the appliance starts warming up again.

Your model number seems to be missing three digits at the start of it. This tells us who actually made the unit.
It sounds like you have an analogue thermostat (not electronic) from your description I would say that is the problem. It is sticking in the open position. |

Sorry Denman. It looks like 10559562990 or 10659562990 as the model number. The fridge and freezer did this a week ago. Mu wife turned the stat up and seemed to work fine for a week. Then it did it again yesterday. I thought the thermostat also but both the freezer and fridge warm up. Maybe defrost timer???

10659562990 comes up as the following. Replacement parts for KENMORE 10659562990 | AppliancePartsPros.comI thought the thermostat also but both the freezer and fridge warm up. The freezer is what cools the fresh food side so if it warms up so will the fresh food. Maybe defrost timer??? I do not think so as turning the thermostat would have no effect on the defrost stopping and the compressor starting. It still sounds like a thermostat problem to me. Part number: AP3037004
