The fridge is staying cold and the cooling fan remains on continuously. The compressor kicks on for about 10 seconds then off for about 1 minute and 40 seconds then back on again for about 10 seconds, this cycle just keeps going. I removed the back cover and cleaned the dust out and plugged the unit back in and it goes back to the 10 second routine. The compressor is warm but not hot. Any idea as to what is causing this?

Sounds like the problem is a bad compressor start relay. You also have to order the wire connector for this relay. - The start relay Part number: AP3790738

Replaced the start relay and back running normal.:) Thank you for the quick response and diagnostic advice. The fast delivery of the replacement part was fantastic, less than 24 hours from the time the order was placed and the part was at my front door. Doesn't get any better than this, Thanks again.:D

Gene, I was pleased to see you had the solution for Greeneye, hoping you'll have one for me! If the problem is exactly the same, then the solution should be very similar. If you need the correct part number, post the complete model number of the refrigerator. Gene.

Thanks, Gene--I tracked the part number down using the tools here but couldn't find it in town on a Saturday. Since our food was rapidly spoiling...I had to call a repair guy that had the part in hand. At least we were right about the problem--I appreciate your help and now I know where to turn in the future...
