While baking, it stopped heating. The burners do not heat up, yet the surface light lights up when the dial is turned on. The oven did not heat up yesterday, yet the oven light went on. Today the oven began to heat, but not up to the degree it should be. Today the burners still do not heat up.

Model number does not work, if this is an electric range sounds like you need to start checking the voltage to the range, suspect there is not 240 volts to the unit at the right places at the right time at this point...for the top burners to not work either,,,assuming this is an electric unit...

What do you mean by model number does not work? There was a space between the first 3 digits, the decimal point, and then the last series of #'s. Would that help? I will check into the voltage issue, and it makes sense, but I have had this oven for a few years. Why would it show up now, if that is the case?

This is what I mean by model number does not work in the Sears site...the dot was in there when pasted. We know by the prefix this unit was made by GE as Sears makes nothing but the only place to find infomation using that Kenmore model number is on the Sears site... ___________________________________________________________

Things happen, breakers go bad, wires burn, where the wires are attached to the range they could have burnt off....stuff happens with electricity...
