The washer keeps stopping in the rinse cycle after sensing an unbalanced load. It won't go into the spin cycle. It will spin if I put it the code test mode and I can clear the fault. It just started this and seems super sensitive. Never had this problem before. Is it a fault in the control panel?

GE will not release their tech info to folks like us, so since it spins after the agitation cycle I would say the control unit is a good place to start.

If you order the part from this site and it is not needed you can return it, see the returns policy for details and conditions.
