I've seen them pull to 14 and 20 below but it should cycle off soon
|

What are the settings on the thermostat for if the 1 setting or warmest is lower than 12 below now?

down to -18 should I just not care and let it go for a few days?

I would it can't hurt nothing plus you got to figure there is no load in it, That compressor is pretty tough look at all it's been through lol You could have a bad thermastat

-20.6 degrees, it must be working now. that thermostat must be hard to find and to change out, it looks complicated.

It should just have 2 wires on it and a sensing bulb nothing to high tech as old as it is BTW if you can figure out a sealed system repair I know you can handle a thermastat ;-)

so the selector nob is on the top I have it set to 1 on the scale that goes to 9, the sensor bulb is in the lower right in the front with the tube going all the way to the top and screwed in. if its still on and not shutting down is it in the sensing bulb or maybe the selector knob.
