The fan on my Jennair downdraft cooktop (black) has quit. I have oredered a switch and new knob from this site. How is the old switch removed? I see two screws holding the switch assembly to the frame but when I removed the screws, the assembly did not lift out. Does anyone have some ideas before I snap somthing off. Thanks..Charlie

Pull the panel outward and then lift it up.

Gene,
Thanks for the info. When I take out the two screws, the only way it can go is straight up then out but it will not come up for some reason..Charlie

Gene,
Thanks for caring. My model number is JED8430ADB Sericl Number 19132422EL. When I was trying to find the part number for the fan switch, I also had trouble pulling it up. I called JENNAIR and they used JED8430ACW to pull it up but said it was the same mondel only mine was black. I hope this helps..Charlie

Charlie,

According to the break down diagram looks like you have to remove the main top to access the switch what requires the cooktop removal from the countertop.
