My washer will not spin at all. It worked fine on one load & then the next load…no spin at all.
I went through the diagnostic procedure in the paperwork that came with the washer & concluded the motor thermal cutout was not working (no voltage at pins 2 & 4 in the four pin connector). Since the thermal cut out is inside the motor, I removed the motor to check it. The cutout checked out fine, but I noticed that one brush was completely worn out. Since two new brushes cost almost the same as a new motor, I just bought a new motor. I installed it & it still won’t spin.
Why would there be no voltage between pins 2 & 4 if the cutout was OK? By the way, the diagnostic procedure doesn’t say a word about whether to check the voltage at the connector or at the block it plugs in to. No matter, there was no voltage at either place.
So, I have 110V at the wall, 110V into the washer & no voltage at pins 2 & 4. What should I check next?
By the way, it looks like the Frigidaire service tips website Electrolux Major Appliances Service Website is not available anymore? Clicking on it takes me to a Login screen that I obviously don’t have a login for. Is the service manual available anywhere else?

I studied the troubleshooting pages & realized one small detail that made all the difference. Previously, from reading the owner's manual, I thought the drum was supposed to turn a bit when the washer was first started & was filling with water, so after replacing the motor I just started the washer up to see if it would turn. I didn't realize that the drum wouldn't turn until after it was finished filling. So, I tried it again & this time I just let it fill all the way & then waited to see if it would turn. This time it worked, of course.
So it was the motor & its worn out brushes that were the problem after all.
