I have replaced the defrost timer already with no luck in my situation. Have checked defrost heating element for continuity and its good. Could it be the defrost thermostat?

You can strip some insulation from each wire going to the t-stat and short them out (bi-pass the t-stat and then put it into the defrost cycle and make sure the heating element comes on

Years ago they sold a "defrost-pack". Timer,heater,limit. I guess they wanted to CTA. :D
