Hi All - New to the forum...Thanks in advance for your help. I have a 14 month old GE that stopped heating out of the blue. I did determine that it will heat still but only when we switch the vent fan on. I did replace the SMART board and it made no difference. Is there some lock out that works through the "auto vent fan on" logic that if high heat is sensed beneath the unit (it is an OTR) that it will not heat unless the vent fan is running? Any ideas on what to check next? Thanks Again...

Any chance of getting some help here? Anybody have a good schematic for this family of MWO? The schematic in the unit appears to be incomplete....Thanks...

Have you open the outer case? I found the schema in between the case and the inner wall opposite of all the components. Unless somebody move it out from there.

I did find the schematic there....but it is not a complete schematic. (The whole document is there but not everything is on the schematic...) Cannot troubleshoot via this doc as information is missing.

Did you find resolution? My relatively new GE unit started behaving the same way - no heat unless fab is on.

Nope - pretty much just turning on the fan whenever we cook. I had a EE confirm (here at work) that the schematic furnished with the unit is incomplete and cannot be used to troubleshoot this issue. I was hoping that one of the folks on this board that services these units would share their experience with me, but so far no luck...

Thank you! I assume calling their tech support would not be helpful? I have not gotten through to a live person there yet. I guess having a bit noisier cooking is not that terrible... :-)

Yea - their tech assistance will not be helpful...but they will galdly send out a service tech for $125! We just turn the fan to low and cook away.

Is your microwave still working with the fan on low? Our Maytag just started this problem and I'm wondering how long it will continue to work with the vent on before we'll need to replace it.
