I just purchased a ice maker module part number W10190935 yesterday and received today (fast shipping!) and installed it accordingly. However, it isn't working. The reason for replacing the motor module was because the original one was starting to make the clicking noise which indicates it is going out. When I reinstall the old module it starts to rotate immediately, but the new one does nothing when installed. Is it possible I received a faulty motor module today?

Yes, it is installed correctly. I think it is working now. I think the stage of the cycle the new module came in was the "freeze" part, because the motor has rotated and it filled with water. I think I'm back in business! Thank you!

You are welcome. The ice maker has a build in thermostat which reads the temperature and controls the power to the motor.
Gene.

Hi Trish I have also ordered the same part. The only difference I find between the replacement and my original is the size of the motor itself. My original is a 3W motor and looks much bigger than the replacement which has only a 1.5W motor. What is the size of your motor? As for your problem. It is possible that the new motor is not set to the same cycle as your old motor. Install it and leave it on for a bit. If it still does not start to make ice within say an hour - then you have a dud motor. Am assuming you've installed it correctly. If the motor was not engaged with the shaft as someone else suggested, you would not have been able to install it at all. So I don't think that is the problem.
