I have a Jenn Air built in oven that I bought about 10 years ago. Two years ago I had to replace the "electronic oven control assembly" which has the display showing clock, temp, mode, etc. Now the display is so dim you can hardly read it and probably have to bit the bullet and buy another one ($125+ s&h). In fact, when you set the oven for bake and pre-heat the display goes out completely.
I called Jenn Air but they couldn't/wouldn't help me since the actual oven is out of warranty. It just seems crazy that this control unit hasn't lasted more than two years.
Has anyone else had this same problem with the Jenn Air ovens?
Thanks

Anyone know whether this is a common problem with the control assembly on this model or ovens in general?
Or is something else possibly causing this assembly to go bad?
Thank you.

I have serviced two Amana ovens with the control just above the door. The first one blew out when the door gasket started to leak hot air on the control!! This next one took 13 years to fail, not too bad.
