My problem in a limited or reduced water flow to the upper spray arm. I have removed the filter and impeller covers as well as the check ball and checked for obstructions. I have removed the upper spray arm supply hose as well as the spray head nozzle assembly. I have added extra water, since the level at the end of fill seemed a little low. None of this improved the flow. Have pulled the machine away for the cabinet and can observe the water flow going up the clear feed tube for the spray head. There is not enough volume to make the spray arm work. The pump impeller appears to be in good shape (Not loose or broken). Any suggestions??

I do believe that your dishwasher washes the UPPER RACK and the LOWER RACK seperately, Starting with the lower rack. Start the unit and watch the upper rack tube, Part way through the cycle, the unit will pause for about 1/2 sec. when it restarts, it should wash the UPPER RACK, if not a check ball in the pump is stuck or missing.

Wow! I have the exact same problem on my Frigidaire FDB635RB. I jammed a bottle opener in the latch to watch the cycle (with all spray arms and racks removed), and sure enough, just as Drags1998 says, after a little while some water *does* start to come out of the upper spray feeder hole, but it's very weak, and certainly not strong enough to spin the spray arm. Interestingly enough, if I squeeze the door handle just enough to make the cycle stop (but not open the door), and then immediately release the handle, the water pressure switches entirely from the lower sprayer to the upper (and is the sort of pressure I would expect from the upper). This fits with what Drags was saying as well.

So, it would seem that the timer (or something in the front panel) is not shutting down the cycle quite long enough to fully activate the upper sprayer - is this something that can be fixed?

Thanks,
-Jon

OK, so did anyone on this thread ever find a solution? I am having the exact same problem, did the same troubleshooting and have gotten the same responses. I will add that I put the machine into the diagnostic mode and the valve transitioned properly when the pump paused. The pause in diagnostic mode seemed just a little longer than the pause in the normal wash mode. Did you end up replacing the circuit board?
Thanks.

That was the FIRST thing I replaced. Pumps a lot better (and Quieter) but still not switching.

Just wanted to follow up. I replaced the circuit board and that fixed it.
