I have installed two 5308001554 elements in my dryer and both have broken at the connection between the element and the termial after a few seconds of oporations. I have made sure the lots of play in between the element and the can to allow for thermal expansion. The old element was 6' long, the new element is 2' long and I was told not to streach the element. Do I have the correct element? What do I need to do different before I instal the next element? Please advise.

I cannot say what the problem is because we are not there to see how you put it on. Here is the part listed for your model per APP, see if that is what you are getting.

Part number: AP2592127
