Hi all, After a period of inactivity, and being transported around in a car, my haier mini fridge does not turn on. The compressor doesn't kick in no matter what the temperature is set to. I thought that the motor protector ( MCF DRB28N61A1 MOTOR PROTECTOR, AP4565337 | AppliancePartsPros.com ) was dead (because it rattled with shaken) but a replacement from this site rattles just the same, and does not fix the problem. The only other part I can see to replace is the starter (part number QP2-4R7, MCF QP2-4R7 PTC RELAY (MCBR170TC, AP4565608 | AppliancePartsPros.com ). Is there way to check that this is in fact the problem? I have a multimeter, etc. Any input much appreciated! -Lefty

Well, in the process of checking power through the fridge, I managed to get it to turn on by shorting across the inputs of the thermostat. So it looks like the thermostat is fried. I haen't had any luck searching the model number on it (it's partly missing...I can read WPF20A-L, and under that 070504).
Is this a generic part? It includes the thermometer cable which is soldered onto the thermostat.

hi, i have a kenmore mini fridge (almost identical to your haier) and am having the same problem. after i read your post i crossed the terminals and it turned on just as you said yours did!! tickled pink. i can probably get part numbers off of mine for you if need be but know this, in un clipped the attached wire you spoke of (temerature sensor) from the bottom of my freezer cavity and there was a decent amount of corrosion on the end of the metal. i cleaned it off with some fine sand paper and wala!! it works again! let me know if you want me to get you a part number since mine is pretty new or if cleaning it works! good luck!!

Shoot, I didn't think to try cleaning off the thermometer lead, and at this point have thrown it out.
I ended up purchasing part number RF-7350-124.

The previous posts were very helpful. I too found the short in the controller. With care I was able to disassemble it and clean the contacts and it worked. The controller is not meant to be disassembled so take care to remember how it goes back together. It took about an hour and better than buying a new fridge.
