Gene. Had a repair shop look at it and he said it is the inverter board but that the instructions are when that board is changed that he has to change the mag tubeas it may have been compromised. So, he didn't recommend fixing it. What do you think about changing just the board? Is it hard to do myself?

I did not see such instructions but maybe he has more specific information about it? I just don't know.

In such situation the result of replacing just the inverter is unpredictable. So I really don't know what to recommend.

In your opinion will the estimate, parts and repair charges be over $400? It seems I could buy a new one for a little over that.
