:mad: My Maytag Neptune won't spin again for the third time. Once was the wax motor + control board & wasn't spinning due to a bad door lock switch. The next time was just a bad door lock switch. (part # 22002162)
How can I test the switch? Also I need instructions on how to gain access to the switch.
By the looks of the posts this is not a very good machine!!!

You could have something stuck in the pump which would cause the same issue.

We like to compare appliances to cars....
If you do an average of one load per day which takes and hour compared to driving a car at 55 MPH for an hour. That's 7 hours of driving and 385 per week. if you drive a car 385 miles for 52 weeks a year that's 20,020 times 5 years is 100,100 miles. So If in over a 100,000 miles it's only had to be worked on 3 times......that's not so bad.

Just a little something to help ease the pain of repairs.

See MAYTAG NEPTUNE WASHER R11 Q6 REPAIR KIT + 12002535 WAX MOTOR for Neptune Disassembly photos. If you have an ohmmeter you can check the spin enable switch for continuity when you push the micro switch in. Another option is to swap the two microswitches in the door latch assembly and see if that works. The first microswitch only turns the door locked light on which is located above and slightly to the right of the wax motor. The right most microswitch is the spin enable switch which tells the machine control board that the door is in fact locked and to start the ramp up process.

Has it ever had the motor conversion kit done to it? You can tell if its the door latch again by opening up the control panel and there will be physical damage to the machine control board one of the resistors will be fried. The conversion kit will replace the dc motor back to a 120 volt motor with a new motor controller.which is a good thing to do anyway because it's doomed to fail eventually

There was a quarter in the pump this time. We serviced this washer yesterday.

I remember while replacing what I had determined was a bad pump on a Neptune; I looked at the old pump when it was in better light. I thought, "Why is George Washington's bust embossed on the flapper?" Then I realized that coins turn black with prolonged exposure to detergent and softener. Now I ALWAYS look for the coin when diagnosing a pump-out problem.
