Got a Maytag double oven. Bottom element in lower oven no longer works but checks out with good resistance. The broiler element works fine so my repair guy says that the electronic oven control probably needs replacing. Does that sound correct? If so, is replacing this just a matter of opening the back, unplugging the old and plugging in the new one? They want $275 for this so want to be sure its the right part to be replaced. Thanks much.

I would want to check the wires going to the element first. If you have a broken or chewed wire that could be your problem. Nat
