My dryer will not automatically turn off, I just replaced the heating element because it went bad. What do you think is causing the dryer to not turn off?

Does it stop if you open the door? Does it start without pushing the Start button? What cycle did you use?
Gene.

Gene. Hi Gene, I would like to tag on to this thread if it's ok. My dryer works fine except that the timer just stays where I set it and will run until I switch the knob to off Otherewise it seems to continue to operate it sounds like. My uneducated guess is the timer is bad since I took a bad lighting hit a month ago here in FL(which is very common). I just order the timer hoping that 's it. Your advice would be very appreciated. Regards, Alfresco.
