Unknown age or model of this fridge, it is a 23 cu.ft. with the freezer on the bottom, got it off Craigslist last year when my old freezer suddenly died.

There appears to be about a half-inch gap between the gasket and the body of the fridge when we try to close the freezer door. I have the appliance unplugged and completely defrosted, since the freezer kept building up ice and we stopped using the bottom drawer and let it freeze over. We defrosted the appliance this week because the icebergs were blocking the airflow to the fridge and it was no longer cooling. The bottom door still does not shut all the way.

Can the freezer door/drawer gliders be moved or realigned so that the door closes completely? If not advisable, would putting another gasket--this time on the fridge to match up with the existing gasket--be a working solution?

Thanks!
