Cannot find any info on the given model number, please check it.

The dryer will turn on when setting the time to dry. But the start button is not working.
Sorry but I do not understand the above. Sounds like it is OK in timed dry but the start button is no good which means it is not OK???
Could you please explain it a little better.

When I turn the dial to set time of minutes to dry, the dryer makes sounds indicating that is on and has power. But when pressing the start button it will not start the dryer. It appears that maybe a starter problem? I am wondering if I buy a new starter that may solve the problem?

The the below is a bit of guessing on my part as I cannot find info on yours.
The info below is for a Kitchenaide KEYE760WWH1.

Could be the thermal fuse.

The fuse is Item 6 in Section 4.
Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL KEYE760WWH1 Residential Dryer | AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for the wiring diagram.

Unplug the unit and check the fuse with a meter should be 0 ohms.

Jiggery Pokery method is.
Unplug the unit.
Remove both wires from the fuse, short them together and tape them up so they will not short to the frame.
Plug the unit in and give it a try.

If blown, replace the fuse ASAP as it is a critical safety device re: prevents lint fires which can turn into house fires.

Also clean/check your vent system and the blower as these are the most common causes of it blowing.
