I am having trouble with the shut off arm on our ice maker. when it cycles to make ice it does not go all the way down and you have to push it down to continue making ice. is there a fix or does it need replaced?

Most likely the problem is a bad shut-off arm spring which is inside the control module. You can replace this spring (not the easiest job) or replace the whole ice maker.

- The part number for the shut-off arm spring is AP2151600

- The part number for the ice maker is AP3160597

The ice maker is mounted with the two screws to the left side wall.

The spring is #2 on the following diagram.

I had the same problem but when I took the ice maker apart, the spring popped off and I have no idea how to put it back on. I see the part on the diagram but it does not show how to put it back or where it actually goes. Can you help me?:(

I need to reinstall the spring part listed above, but am unable to figure out how it is oriented. Does anyone have a picture that shows how the icemaker looks with the spring installed? Alternatively, could someone describe how to install it? I've looked online for the last week and cannot find anything that gives a clear indication on how to assemble it.
