My Whirlpool washer fills with water and then just hums. Goes through the cycles without ever moving or or draining the water. Please help the machine is only 2 years old and my girlfriend and i dont want to buy a new one.

This is a Direct Drive Whirlpool made machine. The likely source of the problem is the coupling, although yours should note have failed this soon.

Anyway, check it out, it is an easy and inexpensive repair and this video will take you through the process.

check the pump on the way in, you may just have something jamming the pump.
