The icemaker / water dispenser started automatically dispensing ice and water depending on which button selected and would not turn off - I shut off the water and the icemaker but need to know which parts to replace the switch, board in the door, board at back of fridge or what ever else.

Did you try to lock the key pad using the lock button? What happened if the system is locked?
Gene.

Gene. Thanks but this model does not have a lock button, it has Water, Crushed Ice, Cubed Ice and Light buttons only. So to stop it from running I've turned off the water supply and just pressed the Water button. I've replaced the solenoid in the past (when the ice door wouldn't close), so I'm pretty familiar with the parts just not sure which one to replace.

If not that switch then the problem, most likely, is a bad main control board because it controls the water, crushed ice and cubed ice functions. - The part number for the switch is AP3191616 - The part number for the main control board is AP3950129 Here are the break down diagrams for the GE refrigerator Model GSS25JEMCWWGene.
