Something fell on our cooktop and now the glass is broken. Is it possible to replace only the glass by myself or do I have to call Whirlpool for service? Also, please let me know what part I need. Thanks.

I had a very similar thing happen. In my case a light above our stovetop fell on our glass stove top and broke it. I did a quick blog on my replacement process and shot a little bit of video on it. Overall if your reasonably handy it was pretty easy to do. The blog is here:

I got the replacement top for about $250, but it literally about 15 minutes to remove and replace it. Hope it helps.
