Dishwasher goes through cycles, stops at 1 minute left. does not finish, keeps running indefinately. when open door, soapy water moving around. if closed again, then hit power button, goes back to 13 minutes and completes sometimes, and sometimes not. Help!!

as i really do appreciate your response, the answer is totally incorrect. we only put in one half of the small lidded container with Cascade for a full load of dishes. i believe the control panel to be defective, but i was hoping it to be repairable for less money than a whole panel. as i said, the timer stops counting down from in the 70's all the way to 1, then the machine continues to wash the dishes without ever completing the pump out, the rinse, and the dry cycles. why would it reset to 13 minutes by opening the door, closing it, then turning the power back on? and then, sometimes it will finish successfully, and sometimes not, and get stuck at 1 again. then you have to push the two buttons together to run the cancel and drain cycle, then it shuts off.

builder14,

Most likely the problem is a bad control module. Remove it and check for a bad soldering(s). You can find the complete instructions in one of our previous posts: http://forum.appliancepartspros...troubleshoot-manual.html

If it would not help then the control module has to be replaced.

- The part number for the control module is AP2802870

Here are the break down diagrams for the Bosch dishwasher Model SHU5315 UC/11 (FD 8001-8003)

When you cancel the cycle does the machine begin to pump out the water?

Thank you for the link to the troubleshoot manual. It seems to have helped me out, but i have a question: the soldering defect seems to be on the heater control relay terminals. this would not be affecting my problem. The unit runs until 1 minute left, then runs and runs and runs. when opened, the water is still soapy. then if reset, it goes to 13 minutes and completes he cycles with dishes clean.

In such situation I would replace the control module without attempt any repairs to the old one.

hene, thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. yes, the machine pumps out the dirty water, and completes its cycles. sometimes it will count all the way down to CL, sometimes it stops again at 1, but it is finished with its chores. is the module the sole source of the cycle timing and advancing? they used to just put a cock-motor timer in these things and life was so simple. from what i have described, it should not be anything else, correct? lot of money for trial and error. are there any tricks i need to know besides swapping the jumper wire to replace the module? i see there have been changes to the indicator lights, etc. will my botton panel still fit over the new one? thank you again, Michael

Sounds like you got a handle on thinga and are knowledgable enough to do it. I'm sure Bosch has it all figured out with control replacement and everything being the same when you're done Good Luck!
