When I start my GE front load washer the door locks, the agitator spins a little to determine load size, the door unlocks, then re-locks. The washer goes into the wash cycle and there is a relatively load "humm" which I assume is the pump running. The washer humms for a few minutes and then goes into a pause state and unlocks the door. Water never enter the washer. The water supply valves are open and the inlet screens are clean.

I found a way to go into test mode and in test 2 error codes E39 and E60 are displayed.

I assume you have found the tech notes that are in the console, if not take a look and see if you can get it into a diagnostic mode and run some of the tests.

I would focus on the door lock assembly and the main control unit, but as with almost all of these complex microprocessor units in the end you may just have to start replacing some items and see if that fixes things.

Yes, I found the tech notes yesterday. Using the notes I was able to get into test mode 2 and recall the latest error codes. It showed one error, which was a Dispenser Fault. I didn't see any obvious issues with the dispenser linkage or wire connection, so I removed and reattached the dispenser. Using the tech notes, I cleared the error code and started a run. I've ran two loads of laundry since with no issues.

I did find one leg shorter than the other three which allowed the washer to wobble much worse than normal. Perhaps the washer wobbling created the Dispenser Fault?

Too bad GE doesn't include the tech note in the Owners Manual. If they had, I could have fixed it two days ago and not have had to suffer with a panicking spouse all weekend.

Thanks.

GE will not release any tech info, so the fact that they even include it with the machine is a plus.

Glad you got it going, and the problem will always be a mystery, not unusual with microprocessor controlled machines.

Thanks for the update.
