Over oven type. Most keys on touch pad don't register/function. First only a few of the numbers didn't work and the fan. Now can't set any time or START to COOK.

Most likely the problem is a bad touch pad. In order to provide most accurate advise we need the complete model number of the microwave. The model number you posted does not come up. Verify and repost it, please.

Unit is a Goldstar model MV - 1500MG, manufactured by LG Electronics, dated 2003.

Unfortunately there is no on-line access to Goldstar technical and parts info. You have to call the manufacturer.
