I have the same issue. I noticed that the agitator only turns CCW weakly and not CW at all unless I apply a slight downward pressure. I am suspecting the Air Bell Coupling. Curious about the lights though. I plan on pulling apart within the next few days and will let you know. Good luck.

I am having the same problem. All the research I have done on this points to the motor. It seems that the slow speed on the motor does not work. This results in the motor heating up (hence lights on same circuit dim) and then the internal protection kicks in and the motor shuts down. The replacement is a kit which includes a capacitor and eliminates the clutch - costs about $217.

Seems to make sense. My 1st agitation cycle seems fine, only after the washer has run does the problem arise. Wishful thinking it was the air bell coupler!
