The ice cube deflector does not operate, I think it may be the selenoid that operates the delflector. How do I check the selonoid with a meter and if the selenoid is good what would be another cause?

Your unit does not have a solenoid for the ice door. Get the kit part # AP3595356.

Nat,
The part number for the selenoid that opens and closes the ice deflector is AP3132895.

That solenoid only controls if it makes crushed or cube ice. It does not control the ice door. For that you need the above mentioned kit.
