I need to replace the heating element (something plastic melted onto it), but I see three different part numbers offered: Model DU2000V (item #23) Can anyone help me figure out which one to buy? Also, is the replacement as obvious/easy as I hope? (Looks like I pull the unit out, and remove it from behind/below.) Do I need to buy any other parts (the "insulating sleeve", say)? Thanks!

There are three different part numbers because Maytag redesigned them a few times and to find the right part number for your dishwasher we need the serial number of the dishwasher.

This job is not too difficult to DIY and, possible you can do it from the front of the dishwasher.

Looks like you do have to buy two o-rings (item #22) together with the heating element.

I do appreciate the word on the O-rings; I'll order a pair as well. And I've got the S/N (#16609505SY) -- should I just provide it via phone with my order? Or can I more-directly find out which heater-coil I need? Just curious: why would Maytag ship appliances under the "Magic Chef" brand? Is it their discount brand? Thanks much!

Thanks for looking that up for me, Gene. I've ordered the element & O-rings,using the link you sent me. You previously steered me towards a quick/easy/effective repair of my 'fridge. I do appreciate your help.
