The push button will no longer open the door. I cannot get the door open and am afraid that forcing it will only break something. It feels like the linkage between the push button and the internal locking mechanism is broken.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I started to do that but was afraid I'd break that too. I guess I'll take a closer look. Thanks.

is this a counter top or Over The Range? If OTR the control panel should open while installed if its a counter top you may have to remove the wrapper AS ALWAYS! BEFORE YOU START STICKING YOUR FINGERS IN A MICROWAVE DISCHARGE THE CAPACITOR BEFORE YOU WORK ON IT LOTS OF HI VOLTAGE IN THERE Thats after you unplug it the cap will hold a chrarge and could make your eyes light up and say "TILT" lol
