Hello, I have a wc202 dishwasher that won't drain. I have tried a few things: I've taken the drain hose off and reattached it; water does move through it, just not fast enough. I've disassembled most of the inner workings until I could touch the impeller and it seems to be in one piece and spinning freely. I've looked on a few websites to find some possible solutions and now I could use a repair professionals help.
Just out of curiosity, do you know how old the wc202 model is?

Just out of curiosity, do you know how old the wc202 model is? FFGG, That particular model number indicates that unit is 25 or more years old, produced in the middle 80's, that version was the last belt driven dishwasher Maytag produced. You said you disconnected the drain hose and checked it, was the disconnection at the pump, or the faucet coupling ? You may want to remove the wood top, and check and see if the dual hose assembly may be kinked inside the cabinet, and disconnect the drain hose from the faucet coupler assembly, and drain the tub into the sink, to clear a possible obstruction in the drain hose coupler connection. Good Luck, :) :) :)

Joe, thanks for your response, I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I just took the whole drain pipe off this morning, and water drained freely out of the tub. Now I'm looking to replace this pipe or just part of it; can you tell me if I need the copper piece in there or can I just install a simpler rubber pipe with less joins/attachments that goes straight to the ABS join/pipe. Here's a picture of the drain pipe, the black end attaches to the tub of the dishwasher and the red hose goes out to the ABS attachment.

You have at least 7 connections, 1 reduction, and the tubing and the hose, is too small a diameter. The first thing you need to do, is replace the "coupler assembly". Part number: AP4114683
I would, if it were me, you'll be better off. Your dishwasher, is still in it's original configuration(roll around/ convertible), Or has someone attempted to install it in the cabinet, or a semi permanent installation ? :) :) :)

Thanks again Joe. The dishwasher sits inside an island as part of the cabinet enclosure. It's not mobile, it's fixed in a permanent location.

I had a feeling it was something like that, This is the closest part I can find that would probably work, Part number: AP3083678
Just remember to keep it as high as possible(against the tub bottom) so the drive belt doesn't cut through it, and if needed use as few splices(connections) as possible. You'll be OK from there. :) :) :)

why does the hose run up the side of the dishwasher and back down again? I'm the guessing it keeps the water from draining out of the tub prematurely. I should probably install the new hose in the same way.

I think you'll be fine after you get the drain hose installed, properly. You may also want to lube the co polymer drive belt, with a small amount of silicone grease, Good Luck, :) :) :)
