I posted a thread 2 days ago but failed to give you my model#. richappy was going to answer my thread but needs the additional information. This washer is my Mother's. I'm sorry, I thought it was a Whirlpool but it is a Kenmore washer. Model# 82984120. When the washer is filling, the water changes from warm to hot. When I did a load of wash last night, I switched it to cold and the water stayed warm. When I did a load of wash tonight, I switched it to warm and it stayed warm but I got more water coming from under the washer than usual. The water that drained on the floor was cold water. I checked the cold water line that is connected to the wall to see if screen was plugged. There was no screen in that end of the hose. I haven't tried to move the washer out yet to check the hoses in the back. Please give me your input on this situation.
Thank you very much,
Kathy

Kenmore Whirlpool Same thing This is what I would try and it also sounds like you have more than one problem. Put the washer in a wash cycle on cold and turn the cold faucet plumbing in house to off. Does it fill? do the same with the hot. From your post it sounds like the cold valve solonoid is bad and the hot water heater in house is set to low.Get a meat thermometer and hold it under a faucet and measure how hot the water is.Min 120 Warm water is 90 degrees which feels like cold. The average person can hold his hand under 120 degree water for a short time This machine is like a 70 series kenmore it has no auto temp it has no thermisters controlling temp.Pretty simple machine It is pretty rare for the temp switch to go nad but its possible I think in the 20 years I have been repairing appliances I have replaced 1 temp control if that. I would lean more toward s the valve. If the water leaking on floor is coming from dead center in front it's the pump leaking. It probably was cold cuz of hitting the concrete floor. Kenmores generally leak it 4 places either the hoses, the tub seal, or the pump They will also leak from the water inlet if it is corroded with hard water and sludge causing it to back spray out of inlet. Tub seal failure is also rare those tub seals in Kenmore and whirlpool Generally last the life of the machine
