Kenmore/LG Washer control pad unresponsive until power cycle

I have a Kenmore front load washer 796.40441900 that is just over a year old (sorry I know I put under a year on the age selection). It is really close to being out of warranty of course. If it matters I am aware that LG is the real maker of this Kenmore washer.
When the wash cycle is done, the interior light comes on and then doesn't go out when you remove the clothes from the washer and close the door. When this occurs no buttons on the front panel respond to anything.
However, if I unplug the washer the light goes out after about 2-5 seconds. I wait a few more moments and then plug it back in and hip hooray I have a working washer again.
Oddly, if I am standing right in front of the washer when it finishes, I can access the panel and immediately run another load. So there appears to be some kind of delay before it locks me out.
When this occurrs, no status indication happens making you think that there is an error code, etc. The washer just sits there with the interior light on.
I thought maybe this had something to do with the switch/connector that detects if the door is closed, but when the control pad works it allows the door to be open.
Before I go through the begging and pleading of determining if I will be covered for any parts. I am mildly handy so any direction for things to look into would be appreciated. While it will drive my wife mad to keep unplugging the washer, I could go some time like this but want to make sure I am not hurting anything.

Sounds like the problem is a bad main control board. I believe the warranty on this part is 2 years.

Thanks for such a quick reply. The owners manual only indicates a year warranty but 10 year for the motor.
Because the unit is so new, I am having troubles locating parts and service manuals for it. I tried appliancepartspros but they do not carry the main board.
Are you aware of where to find the service manual? Do you know the part number for the main control board? Would it be AP5169136 or AP5157929?
Are you able to replace any of these parts from the front of the unit as I have the dryer stacked on top making that a little more difficult to handle.
Thanks again for the help and support you provide to this forum.

I was able to find the parts listing and I think the control panel board I need is reasonably priced that I might take a crack at replacing it myself. There doesn't look to be many other electronic components involved with the washer. I am going to look into this further but wanted anyone to know having a similar issue or washer where to find the info. http://www.searspartsdirect.com...0&shdMod=79640441900F110 - Pcb Dispenser - EBR62280703 F210 - Control Panel - AGL72941702 F215 - Knob Assembly - AEZ33665704

BillyDIY, do you recall which item ended up fixing this issue for you on the washing machine? F110 - Washer user interface part# EBR62280703 (This would be the push buttons on the front of the machine) OR A450 - Electronic Control Board part# EBR62545105 which appears to be a "mother board." I have a 9 year old machine with the same EXACT issues. Edited by user Friday, May 8, 2020 11:39:01 AM(UTC)
