Hi,
Four months ago I replaced my washer motor (seized up/no prior problems) with a new motor and about a month ago the washer started doing the following: washer would fill up but not start the agitating cycle, motor/starter would hum and burning smell, motor trips out on overload, after 10-15 min. motor would reset and start agitating and go through the wash cycle as normal, now the motor/starter just hums, after looking at the motor leads I notice a burn (shorted) terminal connector at the motor, belt and transmission seems fine, could I have just a bad motor or is there something else causing the problem?
Thanks for the advice.

If the transmission pulley moves CW freely enough then the motor is probably bad.

Here are the break down diagrams for the Jenn Air washer Model JW1000W
