Oven bake function inoperative....burnner does not light...Broil function works OK as does rest of stove...( except roast which has never worked.
could be igniter ? OR apparently this range has a master fuse that IF blown, will allow all other indicators to say bake is on but oven stays cold...burners do not light.
If above is true...and with only one?? master fuse...why does broil work??...appaerently from what I can find out this is true...with master fuse gone broil works...bake does not???
How do I ttrougle shoot...igniter OR fuse?
IF it is fuse apparently whole oven needs to come apart...where can I find instructions for doing this
IF it is ignitor...does part come with instructions on how to replace??

First of all there is no master fuse. Unplug the oven, and then open the oven door, and grab the bottom of the oven floor, and pull towards you and lift the rear up and remove the floor of the oven. Or, grab the floor of the oven, and push back, and lift the front out. One of those 2 ways will get the floor off. Then you have to remove the flame spreader. There will be a nut or a screw to take out in the center. Once you remove the flame spreader. The ignitor is mounted to the flame tube, by 2 screws. Take them out, and replace the ignitor. Just be sure you do not touch the inside portion of the new ignitor, you will kill the life of it, if you do. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

umm...must have a different model...mine is a kitchenaid YKGRC608LSO......oven walls are all one piece....in the bottem is convex plate held on by 4 screws...under this plate is a Van upside down V shaped plate ( perhaps flame spreader or diffuser) which just lifts out to reveal a depression in which the flame tube rests...at the far end of this flame tube is a rectangular box ( I assume Ignitor) that is attached to the flame tube by two screws that attached to an L bracket that supports both the flame tube and what I assume to be the ignitor .....the ignitor projects into the back of this recess. It looks like the L bracket can be removed from the back of the recess by a single screw , perhaps allowing the whole unti to come out??

The first thing I would do is access the Bake igniter and check for 120VAC coming to the igniter while the control calls for Bake. If there is 120VAC then the igniter has to be replaced. If there is no 120VAC then check the thermal cut-off (#17 or #22 on the break down diagram) for continuity. The right thermal cut-off is the one with the red wire connected. Replace the thermal cut-off if it's open. If there is nothing wrong then the control board has to be replaced. You can find the complete tear down instructions in the Service manual. Post the results and we'll help you with the right part numbers. Gene.
