I have seen a number of questions that seem similar to my problem but no one seems to have the exact scenario. On two occasions, with several successful uses in between, the oven has suddenly begun to heat up dramatically during a normal bake cycle. Before we noticed the increase, it had gotten hot enough to cause the door to lock. The oven would not turn off, and I had to kill the breaker. The panel is showing an error code, but I am a little confused. All of the code lists show the F code first and the E second. My display has a small red E2 on the left and a big white F3 on the right. Is this the same as F2-E3? So I think I have determined from other posts that this is either a temp sensor problem or a control panel problem. Is there any way to know which?

This is what Whirlpool tells us to do.... 1.Disconnect power or unplug oven. 2.Check sensor connection. 3.Measure sensor resistance (1080 Ω at 70ー F [21ー C]. Add 2 Ω per degree F). 4.If resistance is not valid, replace sensor. 5.If sensor resistance and connections are good, then check for welded-closed relays on the control.
hope that helps Nat
