I recently purchased a replacement timer for my dryer described above (part number 3389865). It is the right part, however the terminals are located and labeled differently than the original part. When I purchased the part, the listing warned that this will be an OEM part, manufactured by Whirlpool and not an original.
I stopped my activities before removing any wires. I have pictures of both the original and the replacement timer. There does not seem to be away to post pictures.
I need some expert help in matching the terminals of the original part to the terminals of the replacement part.

All terminals on the new timer are marked (BU, BK, R etc) the same way as the terminals on the old one. You have just to reconnect wires (one at a time) according to those marks.

Gene,
I appreciate your reply.
The problem is the terminals of the new timer are both located and labeled differently than the original one.
The wires are labeled to match the terminals of the original timer.

Another attempt to insert pictures failed.
Thank you for your help.

There is not much what I can do without a picture. Try to upload it to a free image hosting like that: ImageHost.org - Free Image & File Hosting and then post a link.

Click on the little gem clip up there just to the right of the smiley face, that will open a box to manage your pictures. You browse your uploaded pics at MY PiCTURES and then you upload it into this network. Then when you are ready you click on the gem clip again and chose the uploaded pic top removal.jpgLike this Ha Ha!
