:) Please help. I turn dial to normal wash cycle, the timer starts going through the first phase, drains refills, starts the next phase and the timer stops and it stays in that phase. I have to turn the dial to each position for it to finish the full wash, rinse and dry cycle. It also sticks on the dry cycle. I replaced the tempeture boost thermostat but that didn't help.

I have the exact same problem. Please post the resolution if you find it. I was going to try the timer but that is a 135.00 part and not wanting to throw good money at a maybe fix.

Before I replaced the timer and I replaced the temp boost thermostat. That didn't help. I then checked the continuity of the heating coil in the bottom of the dishwasher with an ohm meter. The heating coil was good. One of the techs on line said it would most likely be the timer so i replaced it and that cured the problem. I am not a dishwasher service tech so any advice I give you may not work. All I know is the process I went through and the timer was the fix. Hope this helps. Good Luck! JEV

Thanks for getting back to me. I was thinking timer too but they are about 1/3 cost of a new machine! The spots on the dial that it stopped, could you feel there was a "click" that the dial needed to trip in order to continue, like the motor was not stong enough to click over to the next cycle? You know the clicks you hear when you move the dial all the way through the full 360 degree rotation. Thats what it feels like to me, at the end of the wash cycle into the rinse and at the end of rinse into heated dry. This is where I have to manually click it to the next phase or it just sits there running in that one spot forever if you let it. Just curious if this was the symtoms of yours too.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I wasn't notified via email of your reply. I don't go on the site very much so i wasn't aware of your question. My timer stopped at random spots not stopping in the same place all the time, so I would help it along through each cycle.

Jev,

First thing to look at and check,

Your selector switch, make sure only one button is pressed and down in the selected/locked position, certain selections input and output power and circuits to the timer, without the proper info from the selector switch, the timer can and usually stalls and wont advance.

if the selector switch and circuitry check OK, then replace the timer.

:) :) :)
