Hi this should be a breeze for you technical experts but I cocked up. I have a Hoover D821 Dishwasher. It's stopped pumping water out. I worked out I needed a Drain Pump...took the one out from my dishwasher worked out the part no and ordered. It's arrived I'm ready to fit it...and I realised I've made a dumb mistake. I didn't check the wiring when I detached it from the dishwasher. So I have a pump with L and N clearly marked...and two spade connectors in the dishwasher to reconnect. I have a 50/50 chance of getting it right. Anyone know how I can make this 100%? One spade has two blue wires going into to it. and the other has one pink one. Which do I connect to L and which to N Hope you can help. I found a dishwasher wiring diagram but it made no sense. I'm into photography not electrical stuff ;-)

Thanks :-) it's a link to a pdf here It may not be the right one...but it's the first place I've found after spending ages looking that had any form of diagam and indicated that I'd bought the right part from the trouble shooter...

The pink one, by the diagram you posted, should go to the float switch and the blue goes to the pump motor. Nat

Maybe I don't think the diagram is correct for what I need then. I have a complete drain pump with two connection pins at the base (one pin marked N (i assume neutral) and the other L (I assume live)) And I have two plugs to go onto these pins to connect the pump into the dishwasher...one of the plugs has a pink wire the other has two blue wires. But which one connects to L and which goes to N?

Can you post the part number off the pump so I can view it. I'm generally a hands on person and have to see it. Nat

Ok, by looking at the pump plug the wires blue on the left & pink on the right, as pictured. That should do it. Nat

If you look at the picture, the left plug has 2 connectors, the right only one. It should match up. Nat
