My freezer has water leak only sometimes. Strangely it leaks a couple of days in a week (irregularly) and the leak amount varies. (from just a little to a lot enough to make a big paddle in the kitchen). It's 6 years old with auto defrost. A repair guy doesn't want to come back for this, so I am replacing the defrost thermostat..from just a guess. If you have any advice, I will applicate. - Lia

Lia That sounds like your defrost drain cup is getting full and the water is running out and into your floor. If you look near the compressor there is a little cup check it. Nat

Nat,
I guess that the reason of the excess water in the drain cup is thermostat is not working propery..any other possible causes?

Depending on where you live it could be because of excessive humidity we've had this year. You may also want to check your door seals to make sure they are sealing correctly. Nat

I look at the back of the freezer and found a pipe was covered with ice. It melts in a few minutes when the power is off, but it buits up soon when the power is on....I this it is the cause!!! ...but I don't know why it has this much condensation? Other freezer is fine, no ice buit around the pipe...I wonder if the gas is too much or just the pipe need to be wraped?
