side by side whirlpool freezer is icing up on coil inside freezer compartment. It is in an under the house insulated garrage. Ran it there since last april, frig is reading 50 degrees. freezer obviouslly not freezing. Thawed it out once by removing the inside pannel. still icing up. thanks for a reply, nss.

that's a defrost issue, could be one or more of three parts.....Defrost timer/adapter, defrost thermostat or the defrost heater. Nat

Nat, How do I diagnos which one to replace first? or in what order would you start? Thanks, nss

I would start by testing the bi-metal with an ohm meter, it's located behind the rear panel in the freezer attached to the wire harness. It must be cold while testing for continuity. Nat

Nat my whirlpool has a new bi metal now but freezer isnt cold enough yet. Still some ice on the outer line leading to coil. which part do i look at next? thanks NSS

Then you are going to need this part (2304095) it's located in a box near the compressor in the back of the unit. Your model doesn't have a defrsot timer. Nat

nat, i put in the new computer board, plugged in the freezer and then turned on the control knob, compressor ran then quit, get 2e and 3c error. now what hellllp! NSS I put the old part in and it does the same thing, the compressor was running before and cooling but not well enough.
