I am able to start a wash cycle only sometimes. More frequently than not, I will push the buttons for Normal cycle, High temp, Sanitize rinse and Dry without heat (all the LEDs come on as expected), however, when I push Start nothing happens (no blinking of the LEDs, no start).
I know it is not a faulty door lock because when I push cancel and close the door, the cancel cycle starts. I can feel the switch close when pushing the start button, so it's not a mechanical problem (but could be an electrical contact issue with the switch).
This is likely the user interface, control assembly, or even the ribbon cable. Is there a way to diagnose which of these parts is defective?

Try to restart it after th cancel button is pushed without reopening the door. Nat

Nat, Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately, I can't follow your suggestion - the door has to be open in order to access the start button. Howard

Do you get any dashes or codes on the display?

No dashes or codes. When I push the start button, nothing happens - the LEDs for the options I choose remain lit. Howard
