Over the past couple of days the freezer has stopped being cold enough to freeze anything. Ice cream is melting, and the meat is thawing out. However, it is constantly blowing air in the back, it's just not that cold.
The fridge part is warmer than usual as well and this has progressed over the past 2 days.
After reading a couple of other posts, we've tried to find the defrost timer, but with no success. Any help is much appreciated.

Your model has an electronic control board which is located in the control box near the compressor.

After reading your exchange with someone else who seemed to have a similar problem, I was trying to find the defrost timer to test and see if it was working. What does the electronic control board do? The control box is underneath the refrigerator at the back, right? I've never worked on refrigerators and am feeling clueless. Help!

Michael,
Did you see frost in the freezer? If not then it has nothing to do with defrost. Remove the back cover in the freezer and check how is the evaporator covered with snow. Post the results.

Thanks so much for your reply, Gene. I took the panel off at the back of the freezer. There was no frost anywhere. The coils aren't cold but the fan in the back of the freezer is blowing. I also took of the cover at the bottom rear of the fridge looking for the control panel but cant seem to find it. I do have full view of the compressor and the evaporating tray. What next? I'm going to try to attach a pic. BTW, there's plenty of chicken and steak to be grilled tonight, if you want dinner. : ) MTB attached the following image(s):

Put your hand on the compressor and see if it's really warm, almost hot. Listen for any clicking noises.

The compressor and copper tubing around it are cool to touch. No clicking noises.

If you have it plugged in and the fans are running yet the compressor isn't hot......then either your control board, compressor or your start devices are bad.
About all it could be.

Lets see if the compressor is actually running. With the unit plugged in of course :o)
Use a long screw driver, put the tip on the compressor and put your ear to the handle see if you hear any noise.
