My dishwasher discharge pump continuously runs. Water is getting into the overflow pan at the bottom of the machine, behind the kick plate. If I empty the overflow pan, it works again fine. I understand that it may be the water valve assembly. Does that sound reasonable? If so, where is this assebly located?

If your model is like my mode, there is a pressure chamber on the left side. Maybe one of the seals is bad, or something is blocked. You can access this by opening the left side panel.
