My GE Side by side was purchased at Best Buy in 2007. Over the past few months, the water occasionally stopped working but then came back on. I thought it was frozen so I used the trimmer-wire trick. Now the ice maker doesn't dispense either and the fridge randomly stops working altogether until I unplug and re-plug it. Slowly, gradually, both sides are getting warmer and warmer too. What's failing before I call out an expensive and clueless repairman and should I call GE in case there's a recall of this model??? THANK YOU, this is driving us crazy!

Need model # to help. If the back panel has a big motherboard behind it, remove
the board and look for bad solder joints under the big power relay. Jusr re-solder with rosin flux solder.

You have the motherboard in the back WR55X10333, just check it as I asked before.

Sorry actually it's GSL25IFR F

Took the back off and checked the motherboard. Everything seemed visually fine but now it just clicks and the compressor won't kick on at all. Ideas?

You most probably have a bad motherboard if it fails to send voltage to the compressor.
